This started out as a very serious instructional but very quickly became a farce. Seriously though, this is one of the best things you can do for yourself before warming up or performing; the muscles in our face, especially those of the jaw mechanism, can hold an absolutely fucking insane amount of tension which, if present, inevitably presents problems for vocal performance. I'm a very uptight person and often grind my teeth in my sleep, meaning that this step of stretching and releasing the muscles that control that is absolutely essential if i'm going to get the best out of my voice and ensure that my performance is safe and damage-free.
